After the end of the U.S military campaigns, many veterans have come into the private sector to a start a new chapter of their life.

“Most have come with a lot of passion and have managed to succeed in the private business sector,” said Issa Asad Florida entrepreneur and businessman since 1996. Mr. Asad is the CEO of Q Link Wireless and Quadrant Holdings, located in South Florida. He is also the author of 4 e-commerce and marketing e-books that can be purchased on Amazon.
Here Issa Asad will highlight some of the successful veterans from different branches of services and how they have been able to use their talent to help others in the community. Issa Asad Highlights 4 Up and Coming Companies Owned by Veterans:

1. Battle Grounds Coffee

Salvatore Defranco got involved in a hit-and-run accident in 2008 as we were preparing to go with him to Iraq with the SEAL Team 3. This accident left him in a coma for several weeks. He was in a condition that we never thought he would recover. As the strong warrior he was, Defranco responded well to medication, and he managed to survive the ordeal.
After his recovery, Defranco together with his wife Diana founded Battle Grounds Coffee in 2016. The idea of the business is to serve locals with high-quality coffee and showing the country the important service to humanity. The company does this by giving back to the veteran community. Their hiring policy mainly gives priority to the vets. This leading political, cultural and commercial centre for the locals in Haverhill, Mass is looking for more sites to build more stores and expand its services. This would also mean increasing its workforce from the current 20 employees it.

2. Life Flip Media

This business was found by Eric Mitchell who was a former marine. This retired veteran had a passion and desire to elevate the veteran community. This drove him to form this company to help other veterans get media coverage. Flip media offers this chance through its experienced television bookers and writer bureaus. This company doubled in size the previous and is expected to experience similar growth of more this year.

3. Merica Bourbon

Derek Sisson, a former recon marine and an entrepreneur has successfully managed to establish his brand in the liquor industry. This veteran with his business, Merica Bourbon, has been able to conquer the liquor industry which is considered one of the most competitive and hard sectors to thrive in.
This company has done well as it has recently won silver in the Whiskies of the World Awards. The product is expected to do even better in the market due to its smooth taste, and it is also inexpensive.
Sisson partnered with Daniel Alarik a successful entrepreneur who doubles up as founder and CEO of Grunt style to launch Merica Bourbon.

4. Combat Flip Flops

Combat Flip Flops is the brainchild of Matt ‘Griff’ Griffin and a fellow army ranger. Griffin and his partner Donald Lee are known for their successful appearance on the show called ‘Shark Tank’ where they secured a deal with Mark Cuban. This company has grown over the years and on top of their products like canvas bags, blankets and shemaghs they also added sneakers and casual shoes.
Combat Flip Flops has realised the importance of economic growth in conflict areas and as such decided to manufacture its products in these areas. They also support the education of Afghan women by donating from the company’s yield.
Griffin is also a skilled public speaker, and he teaches leadership lessons and the benefits of having a purpose-driven culture.
