Yes online media is used to provide information to your customers; but, people who are on social media sites are also on them to be entertained. They want to connect with you on a deeper level, rather than simply be sold to.

“For this reason, there are going to be a number of trends in 2015 that will force companies to connect with their audience,” said Issa Asad. “Rather than to simply provide information on the brand and on the product line, they are going to have to find ways to connect on a deeper level. They also have to give their audience something that is informative, entertaining and appealing.”

Issa Asad is an entrepreneur, social media expert and bestselling author from Miami, Florida. He is the CEO of QLink Wireless, LLC, and Quadrant Holdings, LLC located in Dania, Florida.

The following are Issa Asad’s predictions for social media trends in 2015.

New inspirations and relevance will take a front seat in social media.

Giving customers the latest and newest information and trends will be big this coming year. Companies and marketers will also focus on writing, rather than simply posting video and images to their social media sites. Doing so is going to allow them to connect to their audience on a deeper level, and allow them to give their followers the latest information that is out there, which is relevant to their brand and to their company in general as well.

Wearable technology is also in.

Wearable devices have become relevant in past years, and more and more companies are using them. But, companies are going to employ these as a part of their marketing tactics for 2015 as well. Whether it is capturing images, relaying messages or simply introducing new technologies, companies will focus on on-the-go communication with their audience.

Marketing channels are going to take a front seat as well.

It is important to compartmentalize your business, and tailor it to your audiences’ needs. Not all customers want the same thing; by creating different channels, you are going to be able to branch out and to give your audience a variety of different pieces of information in the channel which they are interested in.

Stop trying to sell!

Yes, you have to pitch ideas and get new ideas out there. But, marketers who simply focus on selling, rather than improving are going to find it is quite difficult to survive this coming year, and moving forward in the world of online marketing and the use of social media channels. Social media users are getting smarter. They aren’t only ignoring companies who only sell on social media. Users are also often chastising the companies. “I think anyone who only sells on social media should be arrested and go to social media jail,” said Issa Asad.

A deeper connection and a closer look at digital strategies is also something that companies are going to focus on this coming year.

Creating a more cohesive message, rather than simply getting out as much as possible with little content is going to be big for companies that would like to present relevant and important information to their audiences. Engaging and interaction on social media is going to be embraced. People use social media for many reasons; customers use social media to contact a business for a 911 call for help, or commenting on a great product. People join these online sites to communicate and connect; however, many businesses simply look at social media marketing as a way to market, and nothing more. Companies that embrace the fact that social media is meant to be “social”, and take the time to actually connect to their audience, are going to realize a great jump in their figures.

More companies are going to rely on humans, rather than machines or products.

Posting videos or images of people in their companies, posting videos of people speaking at conferences and focusing on the people behind the product and development, is going to take a front approach.

“Different marketers have a number of ideas as to what is going to take off in 2015, what is going to work and what is going to be required for businesses to thrive on the social front,” said Issa Asad. But, a central theme is that people are at the center of things, that companies are going to focus on getting social and that companies are going to do away with simply trying to market and trying to sell.

It is important for companies to take a more personal approach in order to really connect and to grab their audiences’ attention today. With these ideas, not only will marketers take this approach, but businesses using social media are going to make the transition as well to connect, and get closer to their audiences and the people.
