Conflict between family life and work is one of the most common causes of pressure for working adults. We are living in a productivity driven world and many people find it really difficult to balance their roles at work and at home. Most of the times working adults are unable to find a balance between their families and careers, one will always be given more priority than the other.

“This always leads to dysfunctional outcomes, either inefficiency at work, strained family relationships and poor mental and physical health,” said Issa Asad Florida and entrepreneur since 1996. Mr. Asad is the CEO of Q Link Wireless and Quadrant Holdings, located in South Florida. He is also the author of 4 e-commerce and marketing e-books that can be purchased on Amazon.

Therefore, it is important that we try to find balance between family life and work. It might seem like a difficult task but if some of the most successful people in the world have done it so there is no reason for you not to do it. Here, Issa Asad Shares How These 4 Executives Find Perfect Life-Work Balance:

1. Mark Zuckerberg

He is Fakebook’s co-founder and you wouldn’t expect him to have a family or even social life but that is not the case. Before his first daughter Max was born, he took two months off just to be with his wife and new born. He also announced that he will be taking some time off this year just to be with his family as they welcome their second born.

2. Sheryl Sandberg

Sheryl Sandberg is currently the COO of Facebook. With such a title in a huge organization, you would expect her to work late hours just to get everything done. Sheryl always leaves the office at 5:30 so she can be home by 6pm and have dinner with her family. When she lost her husband in 2015, she took two months off to grieve and spend time with her children.

3. Reed Hastings

Reed Hastings sets a very good example to his employees by ensuring that he takes at least six weeks of vacation every year. The Netflix CEO encourages his employees to take vacations in order to relax their minds. Netflix offers unlimited number of vacation days to its employees. He believes that people get some of the best ideas when relaxing or having fun.

4. Spencer Rascoff

Spencer Rascoff is Zillow’s CEO which makes him one of the busiest people in his company. However, despite all this, he is always home by 7 p.m. just to spend time with his wife and kids. He is very much involved in his children’s lives and always encourages his employees to do the same.

Getting a balance between family and life can be a little difficult but if some of these leaders can do it then there is no reason as to why you shouldn’t do it. Plan your time so that you don’t miss out on your family or underperform at work.

Train someone at work to perform some of your functions when you are away, that way, you can comfortably take a day off knowing that someone else has you covered.

A good balance should ensure that you are happy at work and your family is also happy. There is no reason as to why you shouldn’t have it both ways.
