Social media is taking over everyone’s lives, so don’t feel ashamed about obsessively checking social media. Although this does not mean you shouldn’t be actively trying to reduce your time on apps like Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram.

Ici, Issa Asad Gives 4 Ways to Take a Break from Social Media:
1. Stop sleeping with your phone
We’ve all been there, the first thing you do after your morning alarm goes off (assuming you don’t hit the snooze button) is you open your phone and check to see what you’ve been missing out on, on social media.
Doing this as soon as you wake up will mean you’re cutting away at your own productivity since you’re achieving absolutely nothing which will have a snowball effect on the rest of your day.
Plutôt, we’d suggest moving your mobile to another room before you go to sleep. That way, once you wake up, you can get yourself through your morning routine without being distracted.
2. Be more mindful of your usage
One of the main reasons as to why you’ll waste hours upon hours on social media is because you’re just not fully aware of how much time you’re using up; it starts with 1 single video, and then another, and then another, and so on. Until you’ve wasted your morning, your afternoon and it’s time to sleep.
Being more mindful is about being more aware of what you’re actually doing, so the next time you’re on social media, just try to think “do I really need to be doing this, right now?”.
3. Put a block on social media apps
Phones have come very far in terms of their technology and what you can achieve with them, because of this you are now able to block specific apps at specific times of the day, which means that you can limit your social media usage as much as you need to. This is easily done on any mobile device, whether you’re using an iPhone or Android.
4. Have an inspiring lock screen
This may seem a little odd, but hear Mr. Asad out. You instinctively pick up your phone sometimes, with little to no thought, and begin scrolling through your social media, which may leadd us to waste precious minutes, even hours of our day.
Maintenant, imagine if you had some sort of inspiring quote or just a great role model you looked up to on the lock screen of your phone. So every time you pick up your phone, you’d be greeted with this person or a quote which would act as a great reminder that you shouldn’t be investing all of your time on things like social media.
It does sound a little odd, but you should definitely give it a go if you want a new way to kick your social media habit.
