One of the main reasons why people procure tablets or other smart electronic gadgetry these days is to improve productivity. In fact, the ability of tablets to make things around the business place so much more efficient and productive has caused many companies to start providing their employees with tablets for office use.
There are a variety of apps that can be installed in a tablet so it can be useful to employees in various fields of business, and these apps can range from voip services (that can also extend to video calls) to creating highly detailed artwork with only the use of a pressure sensitive stylus. Seeing as how these electronics have become so flexible that they can do almost anything, it’s not a surprise that people are using them to be more productive. And, as you must’ve guessed, there are apps for that now too.
Productivity? Asana has an app for that
Asana is a startup, but it currently boasts a rather well-known app for productivity. The company’s overall goal is to redefine productivity around the workplace, focusing directly on tasks and how people work their way around them. Asana’s app practically replaces email in terms of delivering tasks, and it comes highly recommended to businessmen, and even people who are more inclined to email to send tasks are being urged to give this app a better look.
The Asana app is currently available for the iOS, but, like with any other new software out there, it’s not infallible—it has some flaws that could use a little streamlining. And Asana took it upon themselves to deliver.
The Streamlined Asana
The updated Asana truly delivers with a multitude of upgrades:
• Native task creation and editing interface: Now you can use the app to create tasks and edit them, with all the features that usually can be found in the web version of Asana. You can now use the App to add due dates, set which tasks are to be performed regularly, how often the work needs to be done, adding tags, creating notes, and editing them.
• New design: Asana previously had a multi-pane design, and to navigate, you have to swipe left and right, somewhat like the way the Facebook app works. The redesign now features a menu at the top of the screen, serving as the navigational feature, which the users can simply touch to go where they want to.
• Better speed, more efficient: the new version of Asana can, according to tests, move faster than the previous version. Transition is smoother, and response time is faster. Another addition is the fact that you can get back to the workspace you left by drag-and-drop: you drag the workspace you want to remember to the menu, and you can get back to it when you start Asana again.
• Forthcoming Activity Feed feature: This is currently not yet available in Asana, but one of the forthcoming updates, according to the company, would be to give you a feed which shows you what changes had been made recently.
