How to Think of New Blog Post Ideas

Standard

Issa Asad blog post contentIt’s called the writer’s block, and it affects many bloggers around the world. It’s simply too challenging to come up with ideas that will arouse the interest of your audience. Unless you’re doing it as a hobby, chances are that you’re looking to attract good traffic, ultimately making some money in the process.

So, how exactly do you come up with ideas that your audience will want to read and enjoy? That’s the big question, and there are some points worth noting down. Continue reading to learn how to think of new blog post ideas.

1. Write Interesting Pieces

There are two categories of bloggers; new bloggers and professional bloggers. While new bloggers tend to write anything that pops out of their minds, professional bloggers identify a niche in which they would like to blog about. Professional bloggers are most likely going to choose a niche topic that will increase their return on investment.

However, the process of writing a blog post generally boils down to addressing some key points before you can do the writing. The first step often involves getting into your audience’s mind so you can know their interests, problems, needs and so on. Thankfully, the web has free and premium analytics tools that can help you monitor the behavior of your audience beforehand.

Secondly, if you’ve already identified the industry, you want to watch what your competitors are writing about and how their audience are reacting to that content. You also want to consider the length of time to dedicate in creating content. Finally, you want to only identify content that your readers will love, while also considering the fact that writing style matters a lot. Are you going to do reviews, how-to topics, etc?

2. Let Your Passion Lead You

The best writers follow their passion. Simply put, if you’re passionate about a subject, you will be able to talk about it in a way that no one else can. Furthermore, readers are able to pick it up from your writing when you’re passionate about the subject you’re talking about. It’s too hard to fake it by trying to write a topic you’re not interested in.

Now, the key is to try and think about topics that get people involved, including the most reserved individuals. You only have to talk about topics that people feel emotionally connected to so they can comment or engage with you in some way. So the truth is, if you’re passionate about something, you won’t have trouble figuring out what to talk about. Furthermore, bloggers who are passionate about a particular subject often find it easier to connect with their readership due to the trust they’ve created in their writing.

3. Know Your Niche

Professional bloggers tend to know what they are talking about because they read, learn and spend time doing the practical side of things. And because of this, they often realize success in a much shorter period of time than bloggers who read pieces of content here and there so they can blog on a diverse range of topics.

You cannot become a jack of all trades. But on the other hand, if you’re knowledgeable on a certain topic and you’re continuously reading about it to stay updated, you can pass that knowledge to others in a how-to format. This kind of writing is very powerful and attractive. It solves the poor situation of the reader. In turn, you win their trust because you solve their problem.
